EcoSafe 6400™ Compost Bags

Research shows that compostable “trash” bags help consumers over their reluctance to compost. Scientists have struggled in creating bags that will both perform well without breaking down or leaking, and at the same time, completely biodegrade without bioaccumulating plastics in our environment or watersheds. Most compostable bags are made from a combination of bio-based polymers combined with some traditional plastic polymers. There is a ASTM standard (D6400-04) to help consumers determine which compostable plastics can be safely “disposed” in municipal composting facilities.

These sturdy, high-performance 100% biodegradable, compostable bags are made in Canada and the U.S. They contain proprietary additives that transform polyolefin ingredients into “organic carbon” that can be ingested by microorganisms in natural biological processes. This process mitigates the problem of plastic bioaccumulation. EcoSafe 6400™ bags are ASTM D6400 certified and are ideal for collecting all your Green Event food and food service waste.
